Jalal Awed has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical and automation engineering. Jalal is currently working at Powell as a Lead Automation Engineer. Prior to their current role, they worked at Stradaverde Consultants as a Lead Electrical Engineer and Technical Manager, where they were responsible for electrical and automation system design and coordination of projects. Jalal also worked as an ECE Lab Instructor at the American University of Beirut. Before that, Jalal was a Senior Electrical Engineer at RCG International, where they were involved in electrical and control system design and implementation. Jalal also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the American University of Beirut and as a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Syriamica. Jalal started their career as an Automation Engineer at an unnamed company, where they designed control and automation systems for various machines. Jalal also worked at Hanino Electric Construction as a Technical Support providing technical assistance for power distribution and control system equipment. Previously, they were an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Syriamica factory.

Jalal Awed has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Aleppo University, which was obtained from 1999 to 2004. Jalal then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Control and Intelligent Systems, at the American University of Beirut from 2010 to 2012. From 2015 to 2017, Jalal completed a Pro-green diploma program at the American University of Beirut, focusing on Sustainable Energy. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional qualification from the Association of Energy Engineers in December 2020. In December 2017, they were also certified as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the same association. Furthermore, Jalal holds a Verified International Academic Qualifications certificate from the World Education Services, obtained in 2021, and a certificate in Wind Energy from Coursera Course Certificates in 2016.
