Brian Knight, PE, SE, PEng., is the Founder and Principal of WRK Engineers, a consulting firm specializing in structural and seismic engineering, established in February 2010. Brian holds leadership positions as Co-Vice Chairman and Secretary of the IEEE 693 Standard Committee and served on the board of CREDC from January 2019 to February 2024 and Teach One to Lead One from June 2021 to March 2023. Additionally, Brian was an Adjunct Professor at Portland State University in early 2015, teaching a course on Reinforced Concrete Design. Prior roles include Managing Principal at Miyamoto International, Principal at Knight Engineers, and Project Manager at Kramer Gehlen and Associates, with experience dating back to 1996 as a Design Engineer at KPFF Consulting Engineers. Brian earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
