Jimmy Peng is an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore since July 2016, focusing research on the integration of distributed inverter-based resources and their impact on power distribution systems. Previously, as an Assistant Professor, Jimmy developed an experimental microgrid for testing stability theories and control algorithms. Jimmy also serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems since January 2023. Prior experience includes establishing a smart grid research program at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and visiting positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where contributions included developing control methods for renewable energy integration and predicting power blackouts through innovative analysis techniques. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Power Systems and a Bachelor's in Power Electronics, both from The University of Auckland.
