Ismaeel Makdisi

Ismaeel Makdisi has over twenty years of corporate legal experience in various areas such as mergers and acquisitions, construction, commercial law, corporate governance, compliance, litigation, arbitration, real estate, cross-border contract management, private equity, and risk management. Ismaeel has worked for large multinational corporations in the GCC region.

Currently, Ismaeel Makdisi is the Group Chief Legal Officer at Power International Holding. Ismaeel is responsible for developing and leading the corporate legal strategy, overseeing the delivery of legal services, maintaining interactions with government bodies, and advising the VC/GCEO and the Board of Directors.

Previously, they served as the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Metrical Real Estate, where they oversaw all corporate and legal affairs of a private investment group of companies.

Prior to that, Ismaeel Makdisi was the Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Intigral, a subsidiary of STC. Ismaeel conducted all functions associated with the role of CEO and advised entities/business units on legal issues and negotiations.

Ismaeel also worked as the General Counsel at Orbit, managing corporate, regulatory compliance, and legal affairs for Mawarid Holding Group. Before that, they were the VP - General Counsel at HNS Group, a privately-owned investment holding company with assets in various industries.

Ismaeel Makdisi started their career as an Attorney at Law at Brandon & Associates, where they provided counseling, negotiating, and drafting services in energy, project finance, and cross-border acquisitions.

Throughout their career, Ismaeel Makdisi has handled complex legal matters, advised on major business transactions, and accumulated extensive expertise in multiple industries.

Ismaeel Makdisi completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from the University of Illinois Chicago. Ismaeel pursued this degree from 1992 to 1996. Prior to their doctoral studies, Ismaeel earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. Ismaeel attended this law school from 1996 to 1999.
