Erik S. Sonju

Erik is the president and serves as chairman on the PSE board of directors. After multiple years as a system engineer for a Michigan based electric utility, he joined the team in 2006. Since then, he has lead multiple PSE practice areas and has provided engineering consulting services to electric utilities and private industry throughout the United States and Canada. These days, Erik divides his time between strategic leadership and direction for PSE, supporting PSE clients on issues that align with his expertise, being an expert witness in regulatory hearings and civil cases, instructing professional development courses, and serving on various advisory committees. He also regularly presents at conferences on current issues and topics facing the industry. Erik earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University at Fargo, North Dakota with an emphasis in power systems. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in 20 States.
