Michael Wahlberg has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 1990, they served a year of national service with the Finnish Defence Forces as a Sergeant with the Combat Engineers, Coastal Jaegers (Marines). In 1996, they started their career with IBM as an IT Specialist in Personal Systems Group, North America & Nordics. Michael was then promoted to Team Leader in the same group in North America. In 2001, they joined Nokia as a Project Manager in Corporate Sales, EMEA. In 2003, they returned to IBM as a Business Unit Leader in Digital Sales & Client Commerce, Asia Pacific. During this time, they also had three stretch assignments as a Program Manager, Leader of Client Experience, and Growth Hacker in IBM Marketplaces. In 2021, they joined GeniusU as a Sales Manager in Enrolments, Global. Most recently, in 2022, they joined PowerBuy as Vice President in Growth & Success, Global and Asia Pacific and Japan.
Michael Wahlberg is currently pursuing a Post Graduate (PgC) in Cybersecurity from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, expected to be completed in 2023. Michael also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc)(Hons) in Digital Technology, Design and Innovation from Technological University Dublin, as well as a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Economics from the University of Wales. Prior to this, they completed a Base year in Computer Science at Åbo Akademi University from 1993 to 1994, and a Certificate in Professional Digital Selling from the Digital Marketing Institute. Wahlberg has also obtained numerous certifications from IBM, including People Skills - Communication, Presentation, Collaboration, and Problem Solving (2020), Earning Advocacy Practitioner (2020), IBM Agile Explorer (2020), Technical Foundation for Sellers (2019), Social Selling Digital Practitioner (2018), Financial Selling : Executive Conversations (2018), Big Data Foundations - Level 1 (2018), Cognitive Practitioner (2018), IBM Blockchain Essentials (2018), Insight Selling to the CxO (2017), Cloud & Cognitive Patterns (2017), B2B eProcurement - Level II (2017), IBM Design Thinking Practitioner (2016), Inbound Sales (2021), IBM Selling Profession Certification - Level II Expert (2018), Selling IoT - Level 1 Program 2017 Version 1 (2018), and IBM Selling Profession Certification - Level I Experienced (2014).
