DeWayne joined PowerGEM in 2020. He is primarily responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of software applications based on PowerGEM’s PROBE software. Prior to joining PowerGEM, DeWayne worked at MISO Energy for 16 years. During his time at MISO, he served in many different roles including: power system and market engineer, software and database developer, project manager, software and business architect, and system engineer. DeWayne’s software development was primarily in support of FTR and DA market operation as the energy market started in 2005 and graduated to ancillary services 2009. He developed a business centric database to combine data from all critical production systems throughout MISO to support operators in determining root cause of market results. This database became the backbone of many tools and display applications including a website he developed that presented visibility to RT and DA constraint revenue adequacy and a constraint modeling forecast. DeWayne managed PowerGEM related projects at MISO for 5 years facilitating PROBE usage at MISO for the first time. During this time, he created the initial input dataset for MISO PROBE for Day-Ahead and Reliability Assessment, and developed automation to building datasets on demand. DeWayne led conceptual design of MISO custom PROBE / TARA function to determine root cause analysis for Day-Ahead topology differences from Real-Time that have impact on transmission congestion. He also developed the automation of PROBE and TARA applications that perform the Topology Gap process. DeWayne served as an software architect at MISO for three years, and was primarily involved with the assessment of current and future EMS and Market Systems. During this time he lead the development of MISO’s Business Capability model, and system definitions.
