Ian Kessler is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in cost control and analysis across the energy and resources sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Cost Controller at Powerlink Queensland since May 2024, Ian has previously held significant roles including Team Leader of Cost Control (Onshore D&C) at Santos Ltd, Commercial Lead at Monadelphous, and Cost Control Team Lead at Oil Search Limited. Ian’s career began at Whitehaven Coal as a Management Accountant and has progressed through various positions, demonstrating strong expertise in financial performance analysis and management. Ian Kessler holds a Bachelor of Commerce from James Cook University and is a Chartered Accountant, having completed qualifications at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
