John G. Cochrane

John G. Cochrane is the Vice Chairman and Treasurer at PowerOptions. John has over 30 years of experience in finance, business development, and mergers and acquisitions.

John started their career in 1981 at New England Electric System (NEES) where they progressed through a series of finance positions. In 2001, they joined National Grid as EVP, Global Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions. John led all business development activities globally, including merger, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. John also managed teams of 15 in the U.K. and 10 in the US, and presented frequently to the Executive Committee and Board.

During their time at National Grid, John successfully sold a wide range of businesses totaling $10B. This included the sale of the U.K. wireless business to Macquarie, the Australian Interconnector to Singapore Investment Corp, and the Ravenswood plant to TransCanada during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. John was also responsible for leading joint venture negotiations, feasibility studies, project budgets and timelines, and vendor selections for four £1B sub-sea interconnectors between the U.K. and Norway, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

In their current role as Vice Chairman and Treasurer at PowerOptions, John is responsible for the financial management of the company. John oversees all financial planning and reporting, treasury management, risk management, and insurance functions.

John G. Cochrane has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
