Mark McElhinney

Mark McElhinney has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mark is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in PowerPhotonic since 2022. Previously, they held the position of Senior Vice President of Business Unit at Leonardo from 2020 to 2021, where they oversaw a 200-member workforce across various departments. Prior to that, they were the President of Lasertel for almost two decades, from 2003 to 2020, where they successfully managed the company's growth and directed a workforce that expanded from 60 to 200 employees. Before joining Lasertel, they worked as the Director of Engineering at ADC Telecommunications from 1999 to 2003, and as the Technical Director at Spectracom from 1997 to 1999, where they led engineering teams in both companies. Additionally, they served as the Epitaxial Growth Department Manager at Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi SpA from 1994 to 1997, and started their career as a Device Engineer at Motorola Semiconductor from 1989 to 1990.

Mark McElhinney has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Glasgow. Mark also has a Bachelor of Engineering - BEng degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, Mark pursued studies in Financial Accounting, Economics, and Data Analysis at the Harvard Business School, and Industrial Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
