Paul Blair

Paul Blair has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years in various companies and roles. Paul started their career as a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University in 1995 and worked there until 2000. Following that, they joined Kymata/Alcatel/Avanex as a Lead Designer from 2000 to 2003.

In 2003, Paul became the Director of Technology at Ovisor Technologies Ltd, where they served until 2008. Paul then joined Exxelis Ltd as the Director of Optical Product Development, leading the exploitation and development of the company's optical product roadmap and IP until 2013.

After that, Paul joined PowerPhotonic in 2014 and held multiple roles over the years. Paul initially worked as a Senior Development Engineer from 2014 to 2015, followed by the position of Engineering Manager from 2015 to 2018. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the Head of Engineering at PowerPhotonic. Currently, they hold the role of Head of Technology Acquisition Team since December 2020.

Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated expertise in technology development, product delivery, market analysis, and team management.

Paul Blair earned a B.Sc. in Physics from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 1987 to 1990. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Diffractive Optics at Heriot-Watt University, completing their doctoral studies from 1991 to 1995.
