Girish has significant experience in the renewable energy industry. Girish founded and served as the CEO & Co-Founder of Suryaday, a solar energy company dealing with rooftop and mini-grid solar power projects, from June 2014 to September 2020. Under their leadership, the company achieved eligibility for PSU projects and developed an order book of INR 500 million. Girish was recognized as one of the leading solar entrepreneurs for three years.
Before their role at Suryaday, Girish worked as a Vice President at Azure Power, where they led investor relations and project development, including land acquisition, project financing, and onboarding new investors. Girish also played a crucial role in IPO preparation and procurement. Furthermore, they held the position of Vice President - Mergers & Acquisitions at RUIA GROUP, overseeing international M&A activities across the Middle-East, Europe, and the Americas.
Girish started their career as a Partner at Arun Girish & Associates from March 2001 to August 2003. Girish later served as Vice President at Corporate Professionals from August 2003 to August 2008. Additionally, they gained valuable experience as Head - Legal & Corporate Affairs at Ester Industries Limited from June 2010 to June 2011.

Before pursuing their MBA, Girish earned a Bachelor of Laws degree in Corporate & Tax laws from Delhi University from 2001 to 2005. Girish also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Accounting from Delhi University, which they obtained from 1995 to 1998. Girish further enhanced their knowledge in Corporate laws by completing the Chartered Secretary program from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India during the same period. In 2020, they obtained a Proficiency Test for Independent Directors certification from the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.

High Impact Renewable energy built in emerging markets can have 3-6 times the climate impact of a traditional Power Purchase Agreement in North America or Europe. By investing in these projects, corporate climate leaders can not only meet their own climate goals, but can also help the Global South to leapfrog energy technologies and move straight to clean energy.
