Michael Sharer

Michael Sharer is a seasoned professional in lab informatics and biochemistry with extensive experience in program management, technology development, and data analysis. Currently serving as Associate Director of Lab Informatics at PPD since January 2009, Michael has contributed to the development of patented technologies and the implementation of SQL databases, while effectively liaising between various departments to ensure customer requirements are met. Previous roles include positions at Merck as a Research Biochemist, where Michael managed teams and developed software tools for data analysis, and at Penn State University, focusing on molecular techniques. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Pathobiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, both from Penn State University.
