Jamie Buening

Jamie Buening has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information security and network administration. Most recently, in 2021, Jamie served as the Enterprise Security Cyber Threat Analyst Lead at PPL Corporation. Prior to this role, Jamie worked at Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) from 2007 to 2021, holding various positions such as Senior Manager of Threat Intelligence and Hunting, Manager of Threat Intelligence and Hunting, Principal IT Compliance Analyst, and Principal Network Analyst. Before joining MISO, Jamie worked at Accudata Systems, Inc. as an IT Infrastructure Consultant for a brief period in 2007. Jamie's earliest work experience dates back to 2000 at ExxonMobil Global Services Company, where Jamie served as a Sr. Network Security Specialist and a UNIX System Administrator. Throughout their career, Jamie has demonstrated expertise in threat hunting, incident response, network security, compliance, infrastructure consulting, and system administration.

Jamie Buening holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Telecommunications and Networking from Purdue University. In addition to their degree, Jamie has obtained various certifications over the years, including GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID), R Programming, The Data Scientist's Toolbox, CISSP, ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management, TippingPoint Certified Security Expert, Red Hat Certified Engineer, GIAC Advisory Board, and GIAC Critical Infrastructure Protection (GCIP).
