Wendy E. Stark

EVP, Utilities, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary at PPL Corporation

Wendy E. Stark is executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary of PPL Corporation, one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the United States. With over two decades of legal experience, Stark leads PPL’s legal department and oversees the corporation’s ethics and compliance programs.

Stark joined PPL in April 2021 from Pepco Holdings, LLC, where she was senior vice president, Legal and Regulatory Strategy, overseeing legal services and regulatory strategy for several electric and gas utilities in multiple jurisdictions. From 2012 to 2016, she served as deputy general counsel for Pepco, a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation.

Before joining Pepco, she spent a decade with FirstEnergy Corporation, including seven years as associate general counsel. Prior to that, she spent five years in private practice with a focus on labor and employment law.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and political science from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.

Throughout her career, she has served on numerous nonprofit and industry boards, including the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation’s Capital, the New Jersey Utilities Association, Homeless Children’s Playtime Project in Washington, D.C., and the Energy Association of Pennsylvania.
