Rod Begbie

Rod Begbie currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Volley since May 2024. Previously, Rod held the position of Senior Engineering Manager for Premium Products at Discord, leading multiple teams in the development of in-app perks for Nitro subscribers. Rod has contributed to the engineering community as a featured author for LeadDev and has held significant leadership roles at Dropbox, overseeing teams for Dropbox Spaces and Dropbox Paper, driving innovation in user experience through machine learning. Early career highlights include co-founding Sosh as CTO, serving as VP of Software Engineering at Anova Culinary, and a brief tenure at Google following its acquisition of Slide. Rod Begbie earned a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University from 1994 to 1998.
