Marla Weston has been a practicing nurse for over thirty years and has held a variety of leadership positions during that time. Marla began their career as an Acute Care Administrator/CNO at Paradise Valley Hospital in 1995. In 1998, they founded Weston Healthcare Consulting, a firm that provided nursing consulting services to hospitals and other healthcare organizations. Marla sold the company in 2006 and spent the next two years working for the Department of Veterans Affairs, first as Program Director of the Workforce Development Office of Nursing Services and then as Deputy Chief Officer of the Workforce Management and Consulting Office. In 2008, they became the Chief Executive Officer of the American Nurses Association, a position they held until 2018. Marla is currently an Advisor at PracticingExcellence.
Marla Weston has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Arizona.
