Meylin Herrera

Meylin Herrera is a seasoned Data Scientist at Praedico Rail since April 2023, with prior experience as a GIS Engineer at Willow, where tasks included supporting various GIS and Data Science projects. A Geospatial Data Scientist during a master's thesis at Deltares, Meylin developed an automated pipeline for landslide detection using Machine Learning and Object-Based Image Analysis. Earlier internships at Deltares focused on creating a global geo-database for landslide prediction. Previous roles as a Consultant Geologist at ITBA involved research on hydraulic fracturing, while an extensive background as an Exploration Geologist at PDVSA encompassed geological data integration and analysis. Meylin holds an MSc in Geomatics from Delft University of Technology, a master’s degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from IFP School, and an Engineer's degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (VE).
