Karl Kuhnle

Karl is an ambitious entrepreneur with a deep background in global agriculture markets and technology spanning 16 years. In 2008, as an early joiner of satellite imagery forecasting firm Lanworth, Karl fueled the company’s transformation from utilizing remote sensing technology for forest resource consulting into forecasting early season planted area and yield for various agriculture crops around the world. He built a strong book of global agribusiness clients leading to a successful acquisition by Thomson Reuters in 2011. Remaining with Thomson Reuters, he moved to Singapore to lead the agriculture analytics business unit for Asia in 2013. In 2014 he was promoted to head of commodities analytics for APAC, owning a p/l of $60M+ per annum and managing a team of 47 across 12 countries. Karl has co-founded 2 technology ventures, most recently an intelligent automation firm that led significant digital transformation projects at several global financial institutions. He joined Praedictus Climate Solutions as a partner in 2020, applying its proprietary biophysical crop modelling framework towards helping mitigate the collective USD $2+ trillion in annual unhedged exposure to crop yield loss. He is extremely motivated by applying this technology towards solving problems of global importance such as optimizing crop and management decisions to secure world food supply.
