Fred Prager is a Managing Director and a founding partner of the Firm. Mr. Prager has over 40 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to the formation of Prager & Co. in 1987, Mr. Prager managed L.F. Rothschild & Co.'s West Coast public finance business. Before that, he was at Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co., Bank of America, and Moody's Investors Services. Mr. Prager has co-authored numerous articles including the seven jointly published editions of Strategic Financial Analysis for Higher Education with KPMG, which have become foundational pieces for credit analysis in higher education finance.
Mr. Prager is the founder and past President of the San Francisco Municipal Forum and serves on the Board of Trustees of Claremont McKenna College. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities and serves on the Board of the Russell/Engleman Rheumatology Research Center at UCSF.
Mr. Prager received his undergraduate degree in political science from Stanford University and did graduate work in economics at the University of London. He is a FINRA Registered Securities and Municipal Principal and Registered Municipal Advisor.
