James Buchfink

James Buchfink has a diverse work experience in the information technology field. James started their most recent position in November 2022 as the Director of Information Technology at Forum Communications Co. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch from March 2021 to September 2022, where they successfully implemented a new enterprise Electronic Health Records system and completed various facilities improvement projects. James also co-founded Prairieland Homes, LLC in 2016 and served as its Owner/Project Manager until April 2021, overseeing executive operations and project management for a general contracting company specializing in affordable homes. Before that, they held the role of Sr. Manager, IT Infrastructure at Dell from March 2015 to April 2016, leading IT infrastructure and network operations teams. James also served as the Vice President, IT Systems Operations at QBE North America from August 2007 to January 2014, overseeing IT infrastructure teams. Furthermore, James worked as the Director of Infrastructure Operations at Vtrenz Inc. in 2007, leading the Information Technology Operations department. James also served as the Director of Information Technology at Marvin from 2002 to 2006, where they led infrastructure engineering and support. Prior to that, James was the Director of IT Technical Services at Clarica Life Insurance from 1999 to 2001, managing IT infrastructure and technical support teams.

James Buchfink earned an M.B.A. in Business from North Dakota State University, which they attended from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed a B.U.S. degree, also at North Dakota State University, in 1999. Additionally, they hold an A.A.S. degree in Industrial Electronics Technology from North Dakota State College of Science. In terms of certifications, James obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2019, and a Certificate in Sustainable Energy Conversion and Storage from Stanford University in 2009.
