Director Of Content Operations at Forum Communications Co.

Steve Wagner has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of journalism. Steve began their career as a reporter for The Fort Dodge Messenger and The Courier in 1997. Steve then joined Forum Communications Co. in 1999 and held various roles, including Reporter, Minnesota Editor, Investigative Reporter, and News Director for The Forum. In 2011, they moved to The Bemidji Pioneer as an Editor before becoming the Executive Editor of the Grand Forks Herald in 2013.

In 2016, Wagner returned to Forum Communications Co. as the Director of Content for the Forum News Service, overseeing operations for the premier news wire service covering the Upper Midwest. Steve then took on roles as Director of Content and Director of Digital Content Development, where they handled content-related production, digital content development, and training for newsrooms. Currently, they serve as the Director of Content Operations, responsible for overseeing content production teams, developing operational efficiency, and implementing technology initiatives for editorial teams. Throughout their career, Wagner has demonstrated a strong commitment to journalism and has served as an editorial liaison to various teams within the organizations they have worked with.

Steve Wagner attended North Dakota State University from 1991 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies. In September 2021, they obtained a certification in Product Strategies for Journalism from the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.
