Dr. Pankaj Patil

Dr. Pankaj Patil has a diverse work experience in the field of technology development and engineering. Starting in 2015, they worked as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor at Gharda Institute of Technology. In 2016, they joined Gharda Scientific Research Foundation as the In charge of the R&D Center. There, they led the team in developing research facilities and infrastructure, and worked on various projects related to wastewater treatment, biogas intensification, hydrogen generation, and segregation of granular materials.

In 2018, Dr. Patil took on the role of Process Manager at Gharda Scientific Research Foundation, where they focused on enhancing the capacity of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) by developing a hydrodynamic cavitation-based treatment solution. Dr. Pankaj'swork involved using hydrodynamic cavitation, air, and Fenton's reagent to successfully reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of different streams.

In 2020, Dr. Patil joined SUEZ - Water Technologies & Solutions as a Lead Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for developing cost-effective treatment solutions for industrial effluents from various sectors, such as oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, food and beverages, and dye industries. Dr. Pankaj conducted feasibility studies based on effluent characterization and treatability, and developed treatment flowsheets that included physicochemical separation, biological treatment, oxidation techniques, membrane filtration, ion exchange resin, and zero liquid discharge solutions.

Most recently, in 2022, Dr. Patil started working at Praj Industries as a Sr. Manager of Technology Development.

Dr. Pankaj Patil began their education journey at the University of Mumbai, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Chemical Engineering between 2004 and 2008. Dr. Pankaj then pursued a higher degree at the same institution and completed a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (M.Chem. Engg) from 2008 to 2010. Continuing their academic pursuits, Dr. Patil joined the Institute of Chemical Technology and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering from 2010 to 2015.
