Bernard Downey has a diverse work experience in the field of instructional technology and IT support. Bernard started their career in 2007 as an AV Console Operator at The Franklin Institute and worked there until 2011. Bernard then joined The Rock School for Dance Education as a Help Desk & User Support Manager from 2011 to 2012. In 2013, Bernard held the role of an IT Support Specialist at University of Pennsylvania Law School and The University of the Arts. Bernard worked as a Media Resources Specialist at The University of the Arts from 2015 to 2016. Since 2016, they have been associated with Pratt Institute, where they initially served as an Audiovisual Support Specialist from 2016 to 2017. Later, they assumed the position of TEC Design and Operations Manager from 2017 to 2021. Currently, Bernard holds the position of Director of Instructional Technology at Pratt Institute, starting in October 2021.

Bernard Downey attended Temple University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a degree in Film and Media Arts with a field of study in Political Science. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including the Google Project Management Certificate from Coursera (2022), the Harman Certified Control Associate | Design from HARMAN International (2018), the Extron Control Specialist from Extron Electronics (2017), and the Web Design Essentials from The University of the Arts (2016).
