Vernese Edghill-Walden

Vernese Edghill-Walden, Ph.D., is an accomplished higher education professional with extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently serving as Vice President at Pratt Institute since July 2025, Vernese previously held the position of Vice President for Equity and Inclusive Excellence at Bucknell University from July 2023 to July 2025. Prior roles include Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at Northern Illinois University, and various leadership positions at City Colleges of Chicago. Vernese began a career in education at Georgetown Day School and the University of Delaware, where Vernese also earned a Master of Education and a Ph.D. in Sociology. Vernese holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Bucknell University.
