Irene Makris

VP, Marketing at Pratt & Whitney Canada

Irene Makris was appointed Vice President, Marketing & Sales, in June 2015. In her role as a Marketing organization leader, she supports business development for P&WC products across all segments and drives customer delight by promoting continued innovation and enhanced service experiences.

Irene joined P&WC in 2001 as a senior contract administrator, working with OEMs to optimize logistics. She subsequently held program management positions within Operations and the Service Centre Network before being appointed Executive Assistant to the President in 2005. In 2008, she assumed leadership of the Externals, Controls and Nacelles Supply Chain team. She was then named Director, Externals, Controls and Nacelles, in 2010, and Vice President, Global Supply Chain, in 2013.

Holder of a Master’s in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University, Irene is an active leader on Pratt & Whitney’s Women in Leadership and Women in Aerospace committees. She recently completed a program at the Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point and the INSEAD Global Leadership Development Program in Singapore.

Before joining P&WC, Irene held senior materials and program manager roles at General Electric, where she earned her Six Sigma Black Belt certification, and worked as an engineer at Honeywell.
