Safiya El-Bedwihy has held a variety of roles in the technology industry. Safiya began their career in 2002 as a Project Manager for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Egypt. In 2008, they joined IBM as a Hybrid Cloud Sales Leader, Middleware Sales Leader, WebSphere Brand Leader, and SWG Delivery Manager. In 2020, they were appointed Chief Strategy Officer at PraxiLabs, a company that makes virtual science labs accessible, usable, and affordable for educational institutions and schools. At PraxiLabs, they work with a team of education specialists, artists, and developers to continuously develop and improve the product.

Safiya El-Bedwihy is currently enrolled in London Business School, where they are pursuing an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Marketing from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport between 2005 and 2007. Safiya also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University, which they obtained between 1995 and 2000. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from EMERITUS and IBM, including "Startup Success: Five Proven Business Models", "Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator", "Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner", "MEA Elevate Women Leadership Program", "MEA Galaxy Program", "Cloud and Cognitive Patterns", "IBM Watson Data Platform Foundations", "Hybrid Cloud Foundations", "IBM Bluemix - Practitioner Essentials", "2017 Cloud Fast Start" and "Hybrid Cloud Foundations".
