Sukanya Kumar is a doctoral student at PRBB (Barcelona Biomedical Research Park) since March 2024, focusing on biomedical sciences. Prior to this, Sukanya worked as a scientific editor at Cactus Communications from January 2023 to May 2024, where responsibilities included editing biomedical manuscripts for standard scientific English and ensuring adherence to style and language requirements of journals. From December 2021 to December 2022, Sukanya served as a junior research fellow at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), investigating the role of a novel mutation in a rare genetic disorder using zebrafish, under the guidance of Prof. Upendra Nongthomba. Earlier research included a master's thesis project at the University of Mysore, from December 2020 to August 2021, exploring the genetic basis of hybrid male sterility in Drosophila species complex. Sukanya holds a Master's degree in Genetics from the University of Mysore, a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry Genetics and Biotechnology from Bangalore University, and completed primary and secondary education at Kendriya Vidyalaya.
