William Cromwell, MD, FAHA, FNLA has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. In 2022, they began working as Medical Director for Velocity Clinical Research, Inc. Prior to that, they were Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer for Precision Health Reports from 2020 to 2021. From 2015 to 2020, they were Strategic Director and Discipline Director, Cardiovascular Disease for LabCorp. From 2013 to 2015, they were Chief Medical Officer for LipoScience. From 2009 to 2013, they were Medical Director for Novant Heart & Wellness - Raleigh. From 2008 to 2009, they were Chief, Division Lipoprotein and Metabolic Disorders for Presbyterian Cardiovascular Institute. From 2005 to 2008, they were Medical Director for Presbyterian Center for Preventive Cardiology. From 2005 to 2011, they were Medical Director, Lipoprotein Disorders for Presbyterian Cardiovascular Institute. Additionally, they have been an Adjunct Associate Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine since 2000.

William Cromwell, MD, FAHA, FNLA has an extensive educational background. William attended Acadana High School from 1976 to 1979, then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi from 1979 to 1983. William then earned their Medical Doctor degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans from 1983 to 1987. In addition, they have obtained certifications from the American Board of Clinical Lipidology in December 2005, the American Board of Family Medicine in July 1990, and the North Carolina Medical Board in October 2002.
