Chris Lawless is a venture capitalist and advisor who has been involved in some of the most successful enterprise and internet security technology companies in the world. Chris is currently an advisor at Precision Location Intelligence, Inc. dba QA Locate, and previously they were the Director of Strategic Investments at Intel Capital from 1995 to 2006. Chris has also served on the boards of directors for nine private companies.

Throughout their career, Chris has been instrumental in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring equity investments for 16 companies. Chris has also played a key role in advising many more companies. Some of the most notable companies that they have been involved with include NetScaler (acquired by Citrix Systems, Inc. for $300M), Oblix (acquired by Oracle Corporation for $100M), DataSynapse (acquired by Tibco Software, Inc.), Sanctum (acquired by Watchfire Corporation), NextPage (acquired by Fast Search & Transfer), SignaCert (acquired by Harris Corp), Credant Technologies (acquired by DELL), Crossbeam Systems (acquired by Blue Coat), Sinosun (China-based), Safend (acquired by Wave Systems) Tricipher (acquired by VMWare), among others.

Chris is known for their deep and ongoing board-level support for portfolio companies, which has brought governance, managerial, and technical expertise to many businesses. Chris has also developed investment strategies requiring aggressive pipeline of high Internal Rate of Return (IRR) venture deals. In addition to their work with private companies, Chris has also been responsible for identifying and analyzing companies and technologies for M&A to drive Intel’s market expansion. Chris has prepared business units, as well as technology teams, for spin-out and spin-in.

Chris Lawless has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and has taken technology classes including Essential JAVA and HTML Development at the Oregon Graduate Institute. Chris also has FINRA/SEC Licenses/Registrations from FINRA.
