Kostas Hatzianestis has worked in the medical device industry since 1994, beginning with a Technical Project Manager role at CRC for Cardiac Technology. kostas then moved to Fairlight Instruments as a Senior Electronics Engineer in 1998. In 1999, they joined Cochlear Ltd as a Principal Specialist/Electrical Engineer and Senior ASIC Engineer. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Consultant to the medical device industry, working for Saluda Medical and CathRx in Sydney/AUS, as well as a Staff Electrical Engineer for Neuralink and Earlens Corporation. In 2015, they were a Principal Systems Engineer at Advanced Bionics. From 2019 to 2022, they were an Electrical Engineering Director and Electrical Engineering Technical Manager at Eargo. Currently, they are the Head of Wireless and System Integration at Precision Neuroscience.

Kostas Hatzianestis obtained their Dipl-Ing (FH) in Nachrichtentechnik from Hochschule Kaiserslautern between 1981 and 1985. kostas then went on to receive their Master's degree in Signal Processing from the University of Bremen between 1985 and 1989. Additionally, they obtained a certification in C Programming for Embedded Applications from LinkedIn in July 2019.
