Karl Mattsson

Karl Mattsson is an experienced professional in the trading sector, currently serving as Commercial Manager Trading at Preem AB since August 2013. In this role, Karl leads the commercial operations of the Preem Trading desk. Previous positions at Preem included Senior Trader for Middle Distillates and Derivatives, focusing on managing price risk and margin exposure for Scandinavia's largest independent refinery, as well as trading renewable fuels and EU Emission rights. Prior to Preem, Karl worked at Torm as a Freight Derivatives Trader and Junior FFA Trader, achieving consistent profitability through proprietary trading. Karl's foundational experience includes serving as a Sergeant and Vehicle Commander in the Swedish Armed Forces. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Corporate Finance & Risk Management, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics, and a Diploma of Science in Economics, all from Lund University.
