Curtis Higson

Curtis Higson is a Sustainability Analyst at Preferred by Nature since April 2023, where responsibilities include providing advisory and auditing services for sustainable sourcing of forest-impact commodities. Previously, Curtis served as an Environmental Specialist at Hatfield Consultants, planning and executing projects related to aquatic and wildlife assessments in Northern Alberta's Athabasca oil sands. Curtis also worked as an Environmental Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, conducting a multi-country analysis on forestry policies across Southeast Asia. Additionally, Curtis contributed as an Environmental Planner for the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service, focusing on the development of a dog management framework to protect local wildlife. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Sustainable Tropical Forestry from the University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management from The University of Queensland.
