Gina Frystak is an experienced professional in the beauty and cosmetics industry, currently serving as the Owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics & Spa since April 2019. Alongside this role, Gina has been a Regional Beauty Consultant for Merle Norman Cosmetics since March 2017. Previous positions include Account Executive at Premier Beauty Supply and Henkel, where responsibilities encompassed business management, inventory control, and B2B sales. Gina also worked as an Account Executive for Beauty Systems Group, focusing on chain accounts across multiple Midwest states, and as a Sales Consultant for the same group, maintaining relationships with salon and school accounts. Earlier in their career, Gina held roles such as Trade Show Coordinator for Helen of Troy and Regional School Account Consultant for OPI Products, where efforts centered around account management and sales strategies for educational institutions. Gina holds degrees in Business Management and Nail Technology and has attained licensure in Illinois for both cosmetology and nail technology.

Sitting down with CEO, Steve Cohn, storytelling can be extremely fun, very detailed and authentically raw. He knew he wanted to be in sales, be his own boss but at the onset, wasn’t 100% sure of what that looked like. After trying a few avenues, he wound up selling barrettes out of the trunk of his car. Going from salon to salon, was the most invaluable experience he could ask for and he was excited to be apart of a thriving industry that has so much to offer. Armed with new verbiage like backbar, balayage, and butterfly clips, Steve was on a mission; he needed to find a brand to break into the industry and make an impact. Insert TIGI (present day Bed Head) and a sort of world-win partnership formed and the rest seems like history. 35+ Brands later, a 55,000 square foot distribution center that covers Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, second generation in tow, and close to 100 employees, it’s an awe-inspiring journey to be a part of.
