Hector Cabrera M.D., Mph

Hector Cabrera, MD, MPH has extensive work experience in various medical settings. Hector is currently serving as the Associate Chief Medical Officer at Premier Health since August 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Medical Director at LCMC Health Urgent Care starting from March 2019. Hector also served as the Medical Director at Notre Dame Hospice, Wynhoven Healthcare Center, and AUC Urgent Care. At AUC Urgent Care, they held the role of Medical Director/Owner until March 2019. Before joining AUC Urgent Care, they were a Founding Member/Owner at Westbank Urgent Care. Additionally, Dr. Cabrera has worked at Belle Chasse Family Medical Clinic as part of a Group Practice - Partnership until 2008 and at Neighborhood Family Practice as a Family Practice / Primary Care physician until 2000.

Hector Cabrera, MD, MPH, completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology & Russian from Tulane University in 1989. Following that, they attended Tulane University School of Medicine from 1990 to 1994, earning their medical degree. During this time, they also pursued a Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine concurrently. After completing their medical degree, they joined The University of New Mexico for a Family Practice Residency program from 1994 to 1997.
