Head Of Content Protection - APAC at Premier League

Aaron Herps has considerable experience in content protection and intellectual property enforcement. Aaron most recently held the position of Head of Content Protection - APAC at The Premier League. Prior to that, Aaron was a Director and Consultant at Veto IP. Aaron also worked at the Asia Video Industry Association, where they held the roles of General Manager and Operations Manager. Before that, Aaron was the Manager of Digital Content Protection at beIN Asia Pacific. Aaron started their career as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer at Singtel Optus. Additionally, Aaron spent over a decade at the Motion Picture Association of America, where they held the position of Senior Manager, Global Content Protection, among other roles. Throughout their career, they have developed enforcement strategies, built collaborative relationships, conducted investigations, provided technical assistance and training, and served as an expert witness in civil and criminal investigations.

Aaron Herps began their education at TAFE NSW in 2000, where they pursued an Advanced Diploma of Telecommunications Engineering until 2002. Following that, they attended the University of New England (AU) from 2002 to 2008 and obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science. In 2012, Aaron continued their studies at Macquarie University, completing a Master's Degree in Policing, Intelligence, and Counter-Terrorism by 2013. Finally, in 2020, they enrolled in Macquarie University again to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a focus on a quasi-experimental, situational approach to comparative cyber policy analysis, specifically studying the case of film. Additionally, Aaron has obtained a certification in Apache Spark Essential Training from LinkedIn in November 2018.
