Jamie Herbert

Director Of Governance at Premier League

Jamie Herbert has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of sports law. They started their career at Bird & Bird LLP in 2006 and worked as a Senior Associate in the Sports Group until 2015. During this time, Jamie represented various clients including athletes, governing bodies, and commercial sponsors in sports such as rugby, tennis, football, F1, cycling, and cricket. They provided advice on a wide range of sports-related issues including commercial contracts, anti-doping, regulatory and disciplinary matters, and dispute resolution.

In 2015, Jamie joined the Premier League and held the positions of Head of Legal - Football and Regulatory Services and later became the Director of Governance. They played a key role in ensuring compliance and governance within the organization.

Additionally, Jamie served as a Member of the Disciplinary & Appeals Panel at England Golf (English Golf Union Ltd) from 2015 to 2017, contributing to the resolution of disciplinary matters in the golfing industry.

Jamie's most recent venture is with the TAS/CAS Tribunal Arbitral du Sport / Court of Arbitration for Sport / Tribunal Arbitral del Deporte, where they serve as an Arbitrator from 2023 onwards, utilizing their expertise to resolve sports-related disputes.

Jamie Herbert attended The Judd School from 1993 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004, they pursued a degree in Modern European Studies with a focus on French and History at UCL. In 2002-2003, Jamie studied French Studies at L'Institut Britannique in Paris. Jamie then attended BPP Law School from 2004 to 2005 to acquire a Graduate Diploma in Law. Lastly, Jamie completed their education at BPP Law School in 2005-2006, graduating with a Legal Practice Course.
