Deana began their career in 1993 at Thorp, Reed & Armstrong, where they served as an Administrative Assistant, handling various administrative tasks and providing support to HR and marketing managers. Deana then joined Strategic Energy, LLC (now Direct Energy) in 1999 as an Energy Analyst, responsible for spreadsheet development, utility tariff rate analysis, and coordination of marketing and conference presentations.

In 2001, Deana moved to Ransmeier & Spellman, PC as a Regulatory Specialist, focusing on regulatory and legislative research.
