Akbar Rahel, Esq. has worked in various roles since 1998. Akbar began their career as an Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, where they designed and taught a student-initiated De-Cal class every semester for four years. In 2008, they founded and managed a successful boutique college admissions and tutoring company, working with college and graduate applicants from the U.S. From 2007 to 2017, they worked as an Attorney at a top law firm, primarily in complex litigation, civil rights, and healthcare litigation. Akbar also worked on a multi-billion dollar and highly publicized matter involving copyright, trademark, unfair competition, licensing, employment and patent issues. In 2017, they started and managed the Admissions Consulting department at Prep Expert, a Shark Tank and Mark Cuban company. In this role, they advise students and families grades 8-12 on the college admissions and application process, presents live seminars and webinars on the college admissions process, works on outreach and partnerships, and is in the process of growing the department and launching new initiatives.

Akbar Rahel, Esq. attended Georgetown University Law Center from 2004 to 2007, earning a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Akbar then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies.
