Melissa Nishihama has extensive experience in clinical research, currently serving as a Clinical Research Associate and previously as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Cala Health since October 2020. Prior to this role, Melissa spent four years at the University of California, San Francisco, where responsibilities included serving as a Staff Research Associate and Clinical Research Coordinator in pulmonary immunology research, focusing on the effects of chronic secondhand tobacco smoke exposure and managing the recruitment, screening, and scheduling of research participants. Melissa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry with a Medical Science emphasis from the University of California, Riverside, obtained between 2010 and 2014, and completed high school at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory from 2006 to 2010.
