Hamid John Shahbaz has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

Hamid John started their career as a Customer Liaison at Marin County Transit District, where they served as a bridge between shuttle service riders and operators. Hamid John collected feedback from customers and reported it to improve the transit experience.

Hamid John then worked as an Environmental Engineering Intern at Raymond International, where they researched potable water production and transportation in arid regions. Hamid John visited desalination plants and learned about pipeline manufacturing processes.

Next, they served as an Engineering Geomatics Intern at the Port of Oakland. Hamid John assisted with surveying projects, including high precision differential leveling and GPS control surveying.

Hamid also worked as a Geomatics Technician at Towill, Inc., where they collected and processed mapping and data from utility corridors. Hamid John used photogrammetry and LiDAR data to meet client expectations.

Hamid John then joined Marin Municipal Water District as an AutoCAD/GIS Intern. Hamid John entered property easements into a GIS database, creating accurate drawings and descriptions for staff to access online.

After that, Hamid worked as a Civil Engineer at Oberkamper & Associates Civil Engineers, Inc. Hamid John prepared civil designs for land development construction projects, including topographic maps and accessibility plans.

Most recently, they worked as a Project Engineer at Skanska, where they coordinated subcontract procurement and managed safety, schedule, documentation, and cost controls. Hamid John facilitated communication between Skanska and design consultants.

Currently, Hamid is serving as a Management Analyst in Land Stewardship at Presidio Trust.

Hamid John Shahbaz obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University, graduating in 2016. Prior to that, they received their High School Diploma from Marin Catholic High School, completing their education in 2012. In addition to their formal education, Hamid has also obtained certifications such as Engineer-In-Training from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in June 2016, and an OSHA 30-Hour certification from Summit Training Source - A Member of the HSI Family of Brands in June 2018.
