John Merritt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. John began their career in the restaurant industry, working as a General Manager at Logan's Roadhouse from 1997 to 2002. During this role, they supervised a team of 75 employees and implemented training seminars to improve customer service and profits.
John then transitioned into the pharmaceutical sales field, working as a Professional Sales Representative at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals from 2004 to 2006, and as a Territory Manager at Oscient Pharmaceuticals from 2006 to 2007.
In 2007, John joined Press Ganey Associates as an Account Executive, where they generated new business, built relationships with key healthcare leaders, and provided tailored solutions to meet organizational objectives.
From 2010 to 2018, they worked at the learning and talent management solutions provider HealthStream, serving as the Sr. Director of Sales, Patient Experience. In this role, they led a team of Regional Sales Directors and focused on improving patient outcomes by assessing and developing healthcare personnel.
In 2018, John reconnected with Press Ganey through their acquisition of SPH Analytics, where they worked as the Vice President Sales. John managed two sales teams and achieved over 100% goal attainment each year, overseeing a product portfolio consisting of regulatory and custom market research in the health plan and healthcare provider markets.
Currently, John holds the position of Vice President, Client Partnerships - Payer at Press Ganey, a role they assumed in 2021.
John Merritt attended Middle Georgia State University in 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. John also attended Auburn University from 1991 to 1995, specializing in the field of Mathematics.
