Laura Aiken's work experience includes roles at various companies and organizations. Laura started their career at WakeMed in 2000, where they worked as a Community Health Specialist and later as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist. Laura then joined the American Heart Association in 2007 as an Executive Director and played a key role in growing the organization's disease prevention collaborative. In 2011, Laura became the Director of Regional Operations and later the Executive Director of Patient and Family Experience at WakeMed. In 2014, they joined Press Ganey as an Advisor, providing guidance and support for improvement initiatives in healthcare systems. Laura then served as the Vice President of Client Services at Axial Exchange, Inc. before returning to Press Ganey in 2018 as a Dedicated Advisor. In their current role, they are responsible for supporting improvement and growth strategies for the Mayo Clinic destination sites and Health System facilities.

Laura Aiken completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Athletic Training from Appalachian State University from 1994 to 1998. Later, from 1998 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Sports Management from the same university. Finally, from 2004 to 2006, they obtained a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Pfeiffer University.
