Chris Blackburn

Chris Blackburn has extensive work experience in the public sector, specifically in local government planning. Chris began their career at Chorley Council in 2003 as a Planning Monitoring Officer. In 2005, they moved to Blackpool Council where they worked as an Assistant Planner until 2009. From 2009 to 2022, Chris worked at Preston City Council, starting as a Planning Officer and progressing to roles such as Senior Planning Officer and Planning Policy Team Leader. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Director (Head of City Growth and Regeneration) at Preston City Council.

Chris Blackburn has a degree in BSc (Hons) Geography which they obtained from the University of Leeds from 1999 to 2002. Chris also pursued further education, completing an MSc in Environmental Planning at Liverpool John Moores University from 2006 to 2008.
