Scott Soldan

Scott Soldan is currently a Senior Analyst at Preston Ventures. Prior to this, they worked at NorthStar Life Services, LLC from April 2008 to January 2013 as a Senior Analyst. In this role, they were part of a team within a fast paced environment of a boutique investment firm specializing in premium financing and life settlements. Scott was promoted to this role to develop comprehensive financial models, provide premium forecasting, and budgeting.

Some of their key responsibilities included developing complex excel models using limited resources to perform cost benefit analysis on special policies within various portfolios, preparing and distributing external quarterly premium forecast reports used to raise funds for future financing obligations, conducting qualitative analysis of policies, statements, and illustrations during portfolio acquisitions identifying key risk areas such as fraud, contestability, policy grace/lapse periods, and policy liens/assignments, performing variance analysis between internal pricing and service departments financing forecast reports, creating internal budget reports for various portfolios based on the banks financing loan terms and loan to value guidelines, establishing and monitoring a premium payment process complying and satisfying SAS 70 audits, and managing the financial risks of internal and external portfolio’s comprising in excess of 3 billion in face value.
