Andrew McKenzie

Andrew McKenzie has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Andrew is currently working at Pretzel Therapeutics as the Associate Director of Chemistry since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Moderna from January 2016 to November 2022. In Moderna, they held the positions of Senior Operations Manager from July 2020 to November 2022 and Senior Scientist from January 2016 to July 2020. Before joining Moderna, Andrew was associated with AstraZeneca R&D from October 2005 to December 2015. During their tenure at AstraZeneca, they held various roles including Senior Scientist at the Chemical Innovation Centre, FBLG from August 2014 to December 2015, Scientist in Infection Chemistry from June 2012 to August 2014, Sr. Associate Scientist in Infection Chemistry from May 2008 to June 2012, and Associate Scientist in Infection Chemistry from October 2005 to May 2008.

Andrew McKenzie has a strong educational background in the sciences. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Idaho, which they attended from 1999 to 2003. Andrew then pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. In addition to their academic achievements, Andrew McKenzie has also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2015.
