Gwendolyn Mitchell

Gwendolyn Mitchell (Whitney) is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as a Black Venture Institute Fellow at BLCK VC since March 2023 and as a Johnson & Johnson Innovation Board Fellow since May 2022. Previously, Gwendolyn held various senior leadership roles at Global Blood Therapeutics, including Senior Vice President of US Commercial Operations, Payer Access, Trade & Distribution, leading comprehensive commercial strategies and operations until the company's acquisition by Pfizer in October 2022. Gwendolyn accumulated extensive experience at Gilead Sciences, where responsibilities included Senior Director of Sales Analytics & Operations and leadership within the US HIV Business Unit. Earlier roles included positions at NitroMed, Takeda, and Roche. Gwendolyn possesses a BSBA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an Executive MBA in Pharmaceutical Marketing from Saint Joseph's University, and is currently pursuing further education at Columbia Business School.
