Sterling has a passion for problem-solving and enjoys helping clients navigate their financial lives with a focus on their future goals. Sterling believes in a goals-based wealth planning process encompassing key areas such as retirement income, tax management, risk management, estate planning, investment management, college savings, gifting and legacy planning. With the use of proper planning, Sterling helps clients pursue a lifestyle that is meaningful to them and consistent with their financial plan. He promotes educating the next generation of the clients’ family members about the fundamental principles of financial planning. Sterling believes that learning sound financial principles at an early age will significantly impact the client families in positive ways across multiple generations.

Sterling is an advocate of the long-standing investment philosophies advocated by the firm. Liberty Wealth Advisors® is a long-term, strategic investment manager that utilizes low-cost index funds to build globally diversified portfolios.

Sterling is a proponent of the Servant Leadership philosophy practiced at Liberty Wealth Advisors®, in which the needs of the clients and team are placed before one’s own needs and leadership is exhibited by serving others.

Sterling has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in Personal Financial Planning from Central Michigan University. Sterling coaches the wrestling team at Grosse Pointe South High School, and races sailboats as a member of Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit, MI. Sterling is an active volunteer for the Autism Alliance of Michigan, helping individuals affected by autism develop employment skills to successfully enter the workforce.
