Charitha Guruge, Ph.D.

Charitha Guruge, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. They are currently employed at Prime Medicine, Inc. as a Scientist, starting in March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Organix Inc. as a Senior Scientist from October 2020 to March 2022, and as a Scientist from January 2020 to October 2020. Before that, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Organix Inc. from July 2019 to January 2020. Their earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Student at Florida Institute of Technology from 2013 to January 2020. They also worked at Ansell Lanka (pvt) Ltd, starting as a Process Chemist from October 2007 to March 2012, and later as a Senior Chemist from March 2012 onwards.

Charitha Guruge, Ph.D. has a diverse education history in the fields of Chemistry, Geology, Computer Science, and Polymer Technology. From 2003 to 2007, Guruge attended the University of Peradeniya and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Chemistry. During this time, Guruge also studied Geology and Computer Science. In 2010 to 2012, Guruge pursued higher education at the University of Moratuwa, where they attained a Master of Science degree in Polymer Technology and a postgraduate diploma.

Before these academic pursuits, Guruge attended Nalanda College from 1987 to 2000, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. Additionally, in 2002 to 2003, Guruge obtained an International Diploma in Computer Studies, with a focus on Computer Programming and Computer Technical Support, from IDM Computer Studies (PVT) Ltd.

Guruge is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in an unspecified field at Florida Institute of Technology since 2013.
