Daniel Conrad

Dan Conrad serves as chief legal officer (CLO), executive vice president (EVP) and CEO-elect at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND). In January 2020, he will formally step into the CEO role and represent the company on the national Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Board of Directors.

As CLO, Conrad provides strategic and legal expertise to formulate and execute business strategies. He also manages the organization's legal and compliance risks and opportunities. As EVP, he oversees the Communications, Compliance, Marketing, Information Technology, Public Affairs and Security teams.

Conrad is a native North Dakotan and brings more than 20 years of varied experience to his role. He joined BCBSND in July 2013 after spending time as in-house counsel at two large public companies. Dan also served in the public sector having started his career as a trial attorney with the U.S. Justice Department. During his time with BCBSND, he has progressively taken on more and more operational and executive responsibility, touching most of the enterprise.
